How to Pick Which Monitor Edge Drop Uses
To choose which monitor Edge Drop uses, right-click its tray icon, select Settings, open the Position tab and pick a screen under Display Screen. You can also right-click the tray icon and choose a monitor from the Display menu. The shelf attaches to one display at a time, starts on your primary display, remembers your choice after a restart, and moves back to the primary display if the chosen one is disconnected.
Pick the monitor in Settings
- Right-click the Edge Drop icon in the system tray and select Settings.
- Open the Position tab.
- Under Display Screen, select the monitor you want.
- Move the pointer to the shelf's edge on that monitor, or press Alt+C, to check it.
To pick from the tray instead, right-click the tray icon, point to Display and select a monitor.
If you're not sure which screen is which, open Settings > System > Display in Windows and select Identify to show each display's number.
Which monitor and which edge?
Put the shelf on the screen where you do most of your work, which isn't always the primary display. Then choose an edge you can reach without crossing it all day.

Why the inner edge is risky
Where two monitors meet, the pointer passes over the shared edge every time you move between screens. Edge Drop guards against this: it only arms the trigger on the chosen display's own pixels, and only once the pointer has slowed down and rested after crossing from the other screen. Ultrawide monitors

What happens when you dock, undock or rearrange
- Restarts: your choice is kept. Edge Drop recognises the display by its working area (position and size) and, failing that, by its scale setting.
- Unplugging the chosen monitor: after two checks in a row that can't find it, the shelf moves to your primary display, so it's never stranded on a screen that isn't there.
- Plugging it back in: open Display Screen and confirm the monitor is selected. If the shelf stayed on the primary display, select the monitor again.
- Changing resolution, scale or arrangement: because the match is based on the display's working area and scale, a big change can make Edge Drop treat it as a different screen. Re-select the monitor if the shelf turns up somewhere unexpected.

Troubleshooting
The shelf opens on the wrong monitor
Open Display Screen and select the right one. If two monitors look identical in the list, use Identify in Windows display settings to match numbers to screens.
The shelf doesn't open on the chosen monitor
- Push the pointer fully against the edge set under Edge Placement on that monitor.
- Make sure Hover Activation is on (Behaviour tab).
- Close any fullscreen game or video; Fullscreen Protection pauses hover while one is running.
- Press Alt+C. If the shelf opens, adjust the trigger with the hover tuning settings.
It looks blurry on one screen
